Forest Conservation in the Anthropocene

The Pinchot Institute for Conservation, with the support of the US Forest Service, convened a forum on Forest Conservation in the Anthropocene. Held at Grey Towers National Historic Site as part of the 50th anniversary commemoration of the dedication of Grey Towers and the Pinchot Institute, panelists included:

  • Sir Peter Crane, Dean of the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies
  • Sherburne Abbott, University Professor of Sustainability Science and Policy at Syracuse University and former Associate Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy
  • Tom Tidwell, Chief of the USDA Forest Service
  • Peter Pinchot, Senior Fellow at the Pinchot Institute and Director of the EcoMadera program in Ecuador
  • Dr. Jean-Luc Peyron, Director of ECOFOR-Paris
  • Dr. Mark Shaffer, National Climate Change Policy Advisor, US Fish and Wildlife Service
